Exodus 16-18

Exodus 17:2-3 (KJV) 2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? 3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? Why would the people be so fearful after crossing the red sea, having the waters of Mara made sweet, after being fed by manna from heaven. The answer is that they did not have a personal relationship with God. These were not answers to their prayers but of Moses. At this time they did not have what we have today, which is an opportunity to walk with God ourselves. We can come boldly to the thrown of Grace. We know that we have an intercessor. This also is why we may struggle trusting God, for even though we have the opportunity, do we avail ourselves to it. No relationship, no faith. We can sing, He walks with me and talks with me and tells me I am His own. PTL
