Mark 15-16
Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. People tend to create doctrines from examples. Theses verses are not teaching what every believer will do or should do. They are examples of what God could do through His followers as they journeyed out to take the Gospel to the world, Mark 16:15 (KJV) 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. A great example is Paul as he was bitten at the fire and cast of the snake. He did not look for a snake to pick up and bite him, but when one bit him, God protected him. God can protect you too.
